Months After Surgery: What To Expect
You will feel phantom pains, tingles and warm sensations. Your collagen is networking to form scar tissue and to heal from this elective trauma. Liposuction is not a walk in the park.

After your initial post-operative appointments (usually within the first 3 days), you may be expected to attend your post-operative appointments at the 1 month, 2 month, 3 month, 6 month mark. Some request 1 month, 4 month, 6 month mark. There are post-operative check up charges. Some surgeons charge their patients for a quick 10 minute check up, some do not.

Within the first 6 to 9 months, many patients report that most of the numbness subsides. The scars are usually at their worst around the 3 month post-operative mark.

There is the possibility that your scars may have keloid or be experience hypertrophy. You may also notice asymmetry. Your tissue is not paper or fabric and will heal differently on either side. If the asymmetry is pronounced you may have to undergo a revision - or a "redo".
